Man those scenes rekindled the memories of being bullied. The acting was top notch from the cast, and the little nuances given by the cinematography really made those situations come alive. The emotional horror, the burning inside, the fury and depravity of it all conjured a state of mind I haven't felt in a very long time. If the drama is as good as its opener, it'll be hard to choose between this story and 'The Secret love Affair' for best kdrama this year.

well, I have experience working in a south korea company in my country, I could tell that it's very suck. Situation depict here happened in real life. The superior treat you like trash. There is seniority. You need to keep up their working schedule, you will often take overtime without getting more pay. (They said overtime is your obligation as one of the employee). He will racist you and distinguish their race as superior. You need to say "yes" to any order from your superior. No such a thing like "work hard, play hard" only work and work. One time, one of my colleague get hit by documents from her boss, just because her boss is drunk and something bad happened (personal matter). My friend resigned afterward. The replacement doesn't stay for long either, because the boss is kinda pervert and racist about female worker (although he needs a secretary). Well, I could tell you more story about how bad to work in South Korea company.

I'ts so sad seeing this and I'm 100% agree with the way how some offic.es I've been an intern before and just like in this episode I have this kind of boss. The boss who doesn't care about you. you have the capability of doing great things but what they do is to order you around, xerox their marketing blah blah papers, calling the restaurant so that they could reserved for their night out (which you are not invited) and packing christmas goodies for the whole employees!!! I remember all the horrible experience I got from my last internship, some of us are very lucky an some did'nt have a chance to prove themselves. Just like the quote he said in the first part.

I see people keep saying that he was being bullied but work life is like that.. its harsh. Everyone tried their best to get the job, while Gue Rae has no clue why he is there... Plus, he is also a bit slow when it comes to his social skills... Its true that in any workplace u need to be trianed first, specially if u r a fresher, and in Gue Rae's case, no one helped him out. But i dont think he was being bullied here..ostracised? yes. maybe that.

Usually, when I think someone is too sad or heartbreaking, I just skip it whereas with this one, I can't help but keep watching even if it means my heart is hurting/I am crying. I don't know but it just feels so realistic. I am still a student but it could be me in a few years. Gosh', it must be so hard for him. Working hard being his only quality/way to prove his worth. Well, I understand him so much because when you are feeling so down, the only thing that you can think of is to work hard. He seems to get some kind of fast memory though seeing how he memorized the phone numbers of the employees. Playing go must have helped him in this way and for organization purpose too. I agree with the English and directing. They are amazing.

Glad to see Im Si Wan again, and so far I'm really liking this drama. I'm so familiar with those hypocrites, and of course, they're always in groups...have to have a crutch, because there's no way they can stand alone. Talk about "Team Players" That's the misconception that's sweeping the world, and if you're not in--- you'll be ostracized and eventually fired. Otherwise, be skilled enough to know how to deal with them.

It really adds to the immersion. I had to double check the actors/actresses to see if they grew up or studied in the "western sphere". Absolutely fantastic episode.

watching this gave me heartburn. I went through something similar when I joined a new department. I've been proving myself ever since and will continue to. In my heart I'll never forgive those who treated me the worst, even though they're trying to be nice now. However, I think I will like this drama, I identify. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Why such a low rating though?

I feel your pain, I work most of my life in corporate America so I know what you're talking about. To call this sad, is an understatement in comparison to what I went through, and many are experiencing now. The wickedness and evil that prevails in that world is no different from the drug dealer, murderers, etc. It's just another form of evil. Forgive them or else it will eat away at you.

Actually, the ratings are quite good. TvN is a cable network so the are automatically at a disadvantage compared to the terrestrial networks. The first episode was above 1.5 which is a great start and then the second episode is 2.35. Misaeng is not doing badly at all. It could be the next breakout winner since Queen Inhyun's Man.

@Delaney, I do try not to hold ill feeling but I still have ups and downs! I moved from a great team to one of the most socially intolerant, classist teams in the company. The role itself is a great career opportunity & I love it but when I joined there was no comp, no desk, no phone, everyone was 'too busy' to help or even acknowledge me. I got one word answers to questions. Coffees all around except for me. They tend to employ based on social/family background & I guess by transferring departments I slipped through the net. Glad I got the chance to prove my worth.

Glad to know it's doing better than I first thought OskarGloom. I was basing it on the ratings here which only had 8.66 (or something). Glad to see it gone back above 9 now. I really like it and can't wait to see how he gets to the point where the first scenes took place :-)

What profits a man even though he gains the whole world but loses his soul. A family oriented drama with moral values to learn. Geu Rae was born of poverty, a very good son, responsible, hardworking and humble. Accordingly, patience plus perseverance will surely bore him success in the future.
